The reception was very cold. we felt very uncomfortable and poorly looked after. The wellness area too small, swimming pool cold.

Simple hotel in Tonbach, but unfortunately the rooms are a bit old. The food was okay. The wellness area, however, is super nice and modern. It is great that cleanliness is apparently very important! The concerns of the guests are also taken care of - friendly staff!

In no other hotel had we felt so unwelcome as here. We stood at reception for a quarter of an hour until we were finally greeted. The greeting wasn't really warm. The room was very noisy-we could hear every word that was spoken in the foyer. The breakfast was okay, unfortunately the main course at dinner was a bit lukewarm at the table. The area around the hotel was interesting and varied, every trip was nice.

Large room with beautiful view over the valley, clean, good bedding. The half-board meals consist of reheated dishes from the industrial kitchen. Decent breakfasts.

Cozy, very well run family hotel in a fantastic location, a place of well-being in the middle of nature, ideal for hiking and relaxing. Our clean and cozy comfort double room on the second floor (guest house) was equipped with everything you need: safe, minibar, clock radio, sofa, magnifying mirror and a newly renovated bathroom. The highlight was the furnished corner balcony with a fantastic view of the beautiful Tonbachtal, which we really enjoyed. Here you really have everything you need to enjoy your vacation carefree. Worth mentioning is the well-stocked beverage service in the guest house with a coffee machine and well-chilled drinks at fair prices, the small but fine wellness area with indoor pool, four different saunas and a wonderful outdoor area with a view, as well as the cozy restaurant with very good regional cuisine and a beautiful outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy your coffee and cake in the afternoon. Very good, rich breakfast, which Corona is partially served at the table, a very good solution that saves waiting times. The freshly prepared egg dishes can be ordered. We highly recommend the 5-course menu in the evening (with three different main courses to choose from) everything freshly and skillfully prepared, of excellent quality! I still remember the Buhlbach trout today! Very nice and competent hostess and impeccable, very friendly staff in all areas. Everything is done to make the guests feel comfortable. The location is excellent for hiking: from the hotel you can explore the Tonbach valley in all directions. It was three wonderful, relaxing days, thanks for that! We felt very comfortable in your hotel and look forward to the next time! Conclusion: unreservedly recommendable for all Black Forest fans!

Hotel typically Black Forest. Anyone who expects modern is out of place. But everything was very clean, the wellness area was nice and adequate. Service really great. All very nice. Food great. There is nothing more to expect.

Everything is thought of here so that guests can enjoy their vacation without worries: a very well-stocked beverage service in the guest house (thanks for that!), A shoe shine, a cigarette machine in the main building, a beautiful outdoor terrace with a view, where you can relax and drink your coffee in the afternoon . Clean, well-equipped rooms (safe, minibar, radio alarm clock, sofa, magnifying mirror, furnished balcony), a beautiful wellness area with indoor pool and a cozy restaurant with an outdoor terrace and very good regional cuisine. The highlight (very important for us) was the furnished corner balcony of our double room in the guest house with a wonderful view of the Tonbach valley, which you can enjoy in the evening with a glass of wine. Very nice and competent hostess, friendly, polite and accommodating staff in all areas. Very good 5-course menu with products from the region, good wine selection, sufficient parking spaces. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and is - due to Corona - served at the table, the freshly prepared egg dishes can be ordered. The excellent location for long hikes was also very important to us; you can start in all directions from the hotel. The audience is a bit older, it didn't bother us, on the contrary, that speaks for the loyalty that the long-term guests show to this wonderful hotel. Conclusion: Unreserved recommendation for everyone who loves nature and appreciates genuine hospitality!

Good to very good hotel, the food is great! There is an older and a newer part. In the newer part of the hotel, the indoor pool and saunas are included. For children, it is ideal, not just bathing and romping in the water. The excursions that you can do are huge, because the Black Forest High Road can one over the middle valley, u.Obertal very nice !! and easy to reach. From the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse you can easily drive into the Vosges and Alsace and look across. A walking trail is laid out for young and old (Lothar path), from there you have a very nice view of the Rhine plain and France. Have fun

Hotel is well located for hikes and city day trips. The staff, the service just outstanding. We had half board. The breakfast was good and you could always make up for it. There was a five course menu every evening. Food of high quality, alternating, served with a lot of joy. Sometimes difficult to do (and I'm a good eater). My wife missed individual courses, otherwise she would not have made it. Everything in a great atmosphere for high demands. Room equipment a bit old, but everything was very clean and hygienic. Conclusion: We were thrilled and will be back. Thanks to the hotel management and staff for a week of pampering.

Great hotel, wonderful room with mountain view, great pool and spa. Take the room rather in the annex of the hotel you can access directly to the pool and spa.

Good welcome. Typical hotel with very woody decoration that dates a little. Our room took us to another era. It was not renovated. Pretty comfortable all the same. At the sound level everything is heard. Soundproofing should be improved. On the other hand superb swimming pool and recent spa. Accessible in the second building of the hotel. We took stairs outside to get there (not especially annoying in summer) Affordable half board formula: sweet and savory breakfast. Dinner in 5 courses but very early, too early for our group of friends. Tuesday is the day of rest, but half board was still accessible, we had to arrive at dinner between 18 and 19h. We arrived between 18:45 and 19h and quickly realized that the team was very anxious to leave. We had our drinks appetizers a few moments before the meal start soup. We did not have time to enjoy the aperitif ... Imagine dining in 5 steps (3 starters, 1 dish and a dessert) in 1h10 ... at 20h we "watched" to be able to rid as soon as possible. We could not enjoy this dinner and we clearly felt that we were genius. Really pity, as not to offer dinner the day of rest in this case. In the evening the whole hotel was "in bed" around 8:30 pm 9pm! We were a group of 11 adults and 7 children (4 months to 12 years) among an elderly clientele. I think the setting and the habits of the hotel are very suitable for older couples but not our group (30-40 years old)!
